Ottawa

Ottawa Branch was the very first Victoria’s Quilts Canada branch, and after 25 years, is still the largest, with over 300 volunteers. Our quilts are made by 17 Friends Groups, spread all over the city, so if you are interested in participating, there’s likely a Friends Group near your home and most have openings. Although every Friends Group operates a little differently, depending on their group’s preferences, most meet monthly, also making a good social occasion to work with like-minded people. Note that unlike many other organizations, VQC provides all the materials to make the quilts (although volunteers are welcome to use their own quilting stash if they prefer. We know that quilters have amazing stashes).

Ottawa branch is organized by a team, the Branch Executive, so we also welcome people into non-sewing roles. We welcome new volunteers or “friends” for the Branch Executive, quilting, delivering quilts, making kits, laundering fabric, fund-raising, and so much more.
