Established in 2008, the Calgary Branch of Victoria’s Quilts Canada currently has over 80 members. We make approximately 250 quilts annually and deliver them to recipients in Calgary and to communities in Alberta north to Red Deer, and within that area all communities east to the Saskatchewan border and west to the BC border.
We meet on the fourth Thursday of each month (except July and December) at the Erin Woods Community Centre in Calgary where we come together as a group to check completed tops and quilts, cut batting and flannel to be matched with tops to be quilted, prepare and price items for our annual fundraising sale and we bring our in-progress quilts so they can be completed during the workday and passed along to the next stage.
New members of any skill level are always welcome! We always need quilt top sewers, longarm and domestic quilters, and binders. We also have a quilt delivery team and an annual sale fundraising team.
