Victoria's Quilts Canada would like to sincerely thank all the people who purchased tickets; the volunteers who sold tickets, both publicly and privately; and the people and organizations who allowed us to sell tickets from their locations.

This year's raffle raised over $7,000, which will support the important work of Victoria's Quilts Canada, 'Comforting People with Cancer' one quilt at a time! And, to continue our work in the future, we will be holding a raffle in 2008. Details will follow.

And a good time was had by all

2007 Quilt-a-thon participants

Congratulations to... us! For again hosting a very successful Quilt-a-Thon on Saturday, October 20 at the Orleans United Church. About 100 people joined forces for a day of fun, laughter, companionship and hard work to make about 110 quilts that will be distributed, at no charge, to individuals diagnosed with cancer across the country. The quilts bring with them a sense of peace and a feeling that people care. These feelings are very important to someone who is struggling with the fear and pain of cancer.

Our sincere thanks go out to our dedicated volunteers, who worked their way through cutting, ironing, sewing and quilting. Some of our participants traveled a distance to join us, and others were struck with personal tragedies on the day, but nevertheless came to join in. Thank you to all the people who helped organize Saturday's event; and to our many corporate sponsors without whose support our ongoing work would not be possible.

June 2007
Fashion Show

On June 1, 2007 a successful summer fashion show was held at Barrhaven United Church. Talbot's at Bayshore presented an impressive array of their summer fashions. With Kathi Donovan from CJOH TV as the MC, those attending enjoyed themselves immensely. And, thanks to corporate donations, we also held a very successful silent auction. A special thank you to Talbot's in Bayshore for their support in presenting their fashions. The money raised will be used to purchase quilting supplies.
